Private Equity Associate

Pike Street Capital is looking to hire an Associate to join its private equity team in Seattle, WA.  Founded in 2017, Pike Street Capital invests in lower-middle-market companies with leading market positions, strong continuing management and discernible growth drivers.  We target sectors serving professional customers and B2B growth where we have relevant investing and operating experience; including industrial technology, specialty manufacturing, distribution & logistics and business services.  We have enjoyed significant historical success partnering with founder and family-owned businesses in the Western United States. 

Pike Street Capital’s investment criteria include:

  • Investment Amount:     Between $10-$40 million of equity per transaction
  • Transaction Size:           Enterprise value typically $30 million to $100 million
  • Transaction Types:        Control Acquisitions, Recapitalization and Corporate Divestitures

Scope and Responsibilities

The Associate will participate in all transaction functions and portfolio management activities, function as an integral part of a close-knit group of investment professionals, take the lead in financial modeling and industry research, play a key role in the underlying analysis of investment decisions, and assist senior professionals in structuring and negotiating prospective investments in target companies.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Analysis of investment opportunities including financial modeling, valuation and return analysis
  • Market and industry research
  • Due diligence on companies, management, customers, competitors and industries
  • Preparation of materials for Pike Street Capital’s investment committee
  • Assisting in sourcing new investment opportunities
  • Interacting with lender relationships
  • Assisting portfolio company operations, as appropriate


Requirements

Successful candidates will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with honors from a top university or college
  • 2-3 years’ experience as an analyst with a top-tier investment bank
  • Outstanding financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated competency in financial statement analysis, business valuation, accounting and finance
  • Demonstrated ability and interest in working with a small group of investment professionals

Tenure

The start date is flexible, but we are targeting Spring/Early Summer 2019.   Associates will be expected to commit for a minimum of two years.  Strong performers will be considered for advancement within the firm.
